Offered each Fall and Spring semester, our 13-week Core Classes are an invitation into spaciousness and depth, for writers who seek to enrich their writing lives in a consistent and supportive community. This class adapts the practices of Women Writing for (a) Change to a virtual format.
Certified facilitators offer prompts, activities, readings, and other resources to support writing practice, encourage new creative forays, or inspire ongoing projects. Each participant is encouraged to choose and develop their own subject matter and explore it in whatever form they wish.
Each class session is two and a half hours long. The structure provides solitary writing time, sharing in large and small groups, and the regular opportunity to read aloud to a receptive audience. Journaling, memoir, poetry, and fiction are all welcome in the core class format. Participants learn to give and receive feedback based on each writer’s requests.
Note: This class will be held via Zoom online conferencing. Your facilitator will provide specific details regarding this online community prior to the start of class. Participation is greatly enhanced for the writer and the other members of the class if a desktop or laptop is used vs. a phone. Please reach out to contact@
